Jupyter Notebook Basics

Jupyter Notebook is the de‑facto IDE for data scientists because it blends code, visualizations, and narrative text in one place.

Starting a notebook

jupyter lab

This will open JupyterLab in your browser. Create a new Python 3 notebook.

Markdown cells

You can write formatted text using Markdown. For example:

# My Title
**Bold text** and *italic*.

Code cells

Write Python code just like you would in a script. Press Shift + Enter to execute.
