Lesson 1 of 55 · javascript

What is JavaScript?

Duration: 7 mins

JavaScript (often abbreviated JS) is a high‑level, interpreted programming language designed for readability and simplicity. It’s used for web development, data science, automation, and many other fields. Let’s start with the classic Hello, World! program.

console.log('Hello, World!')

Save the code in a file called hello.js and run it with node hello.js. If you see the greeting printed, you’re ready for the next lesson!
